I hate the stock lancer wheels, they look so cheap.

The white works okay in this case.

On the other side I love almost all white wheels and vow to own another set someday. It just looks so rally-ish imo.

White wheels are definitely okay in certain applications, but I don't think this is one of them. Base Lancers, and base Lancer wheels, are terrible in the first place. Why draw more attention to them?

Some good ones, IMO (white wheel photo dump)

Mini's always look great rocking larger-than-factory-base white wheels

Prima Donna BBS RSs look awesome in some applications, but are kind of kit or miss. Way too flashy for my tastes.

And long live OZ. The king of acceptable white wheels!

I'm guessing its a winter package and a summer package. I had to go back and look. the first thing that tipped me off was that the tires in your image were a much smaller profile. the suspension is also lower in yours and doesn;t have the roof racks or mud flaps. I gutta say I loke the look of the winter package much more. I couldn;t imagine these being two different cars. What are the chances they would get their hands on two gold m coupes?

They're definitely the same car. I remember reading the post about his winter setup and how wanted something that reminded him of a rally car. And yet I still missed the fact that they were white! Shesh. I'm slacking. The guys at Livery have a gold one, a red one, and I maybe a red e30 M3 (but that might've been a customer's car). There's some really cool stuff from these guys.
